Egypt, Lebanon promise to face channels promote terrorism

Egypt and Lebanon promised to trace channels working from their lands, and ban promoting violence and supporting terrorism.

 

Supervisor of NMC Ali al-Mosawi held meetings, within Arab Media Cabinet extraordinary session, with Egypt media minister Anas al-Fiqy and Lebanese minister Tariq Matri to discuss Arab media situation and ways to develop it, he presented Iraqi vision to deal with channels that promote terrorism, Arab ministers promised to act in this regard.

 

Iraq succeeded in having Arab approval on its suggestion to differ between terrorism and opposition, Mosawi said that Arab ministers agreed to called opposition on people fighting Israeli occupation for Arab lands only, and consider all other atrocities as terrorism acts.

 

At the same time, Arab Media Permanent Committee ratified Iraqi suggestion to host monitoring center Arab League plans to establish in order to follow up media and behave as required.

 

Meetings resulted to hold an extraordinary round with participation of legal and press experts to discuss the idea of establishing Arab Media Commission applied by Amro Musa, and results of the round will be presented in the 85th round next June.
